Overview
This case study is an overview of the projects I have led and contributed to as a Growth Product designer at Microvest. I will be sharing some of the strategies that I tested and implemented that increased activation rate, Plan creation rate and reduction in withdrawal. To get more understanding of decisions that led to the redesign, you can take a deep dive below. Microvest is a Fintech application that help people save towards their financial goals.
Recommendation engine to promote plan creation and achieve business goals
Encouraging higher savings on Microvest and Reducing saving plan cancellation.
My Process
My design process for this project was dynamic because each key feature I worked on required different approaches. Myself and my team was moving fast, doing a lot of testing and implementing but it revolved around research, design and a lot of testing.
Problem identification
Below are a list of painpoints and opportunities I identified that birthed the new experience of the Microvest App.
The Onboarding experience
The User flow of creating a Plan
Opportunity to reduce withdrawal and increase Plan rollover
Opportunity to promote products using recommendation engine.
Design Solution
The HiFi mockup stage is one of the most exciting parts of every product design project, and this wasn’t different. I made sure the interface is inline with the old design because we don't want to frighten current users with abrupt changes. With inspirations from my mood boards and the guidance of the information architecture, I proceeded into creating a visually pleasing interface paying close attention to the wireframes I earlier created to solve the business problems and meet the desired goal of the product. The designs displayed here are focused on the main functionality of the application.
Growth Designer
Key Takeaway
This was an exciting project because I designed for growth and users of different types ranging from B2C to B2B. I significantly saw that design systems, design principles and many more centralised systems helped in steering the ship in one unified direction.
